Design mode matches your website's theme

7 August 2026
Design mode now follows your website's light or dark theme, and animations pause while you're editing.

A page is easiest to judge in the environment it's meant to live in.

A dark website looks different when it's surrounded by bright panels. A light website has the opposite problem. Animation gets in the way too. Elements that are constantly fading, sliding, or moving are harder to inspect and edit.

Design mode now adapts to the page you're working on.

Open a dark website, and the workspace uses a dark theme. Open a light one, and it switches to light instead. If you prefer, you can override it and choose the workspace theme yourself.

Animations and transitions also pause while design mode is active. The page stays still, making it easier to inspect elements, adjust layouts, and fine-tune details. When you leave design mode, everything carries on exactly as before.

These changes don't add new editing tools. They simply make the ones you already have feel more comfortable to use.

Open a page from your project and turn on design mode.
