Image cropping is now built directly into the editor.
Hold Cmd while dragging a resize handle on an image, and the frame changes size without scaling the image itself. Instead of resizing the picture, you're cropping it by changing the visible area.
Which part of the image stays visible depends on the handle you drag. The opposite edge stays pinned and the picture itself never moves, so pulling the left edge inward trims the left side and keeps the right, and pulling it back out brings the hidden part into view again until the image runs out. Hold Alt as well and the frame closes in from both sides at once. There's no separate crop tool or editing mode to switch into.
The implementation stays simple. Cropped images are represented using standard CSS with object-fit: cover and object-position, together with the element's existing width and height. No wrapper elements, clipping paths, or editor-specific markup are added.
While an image is still loading, its dimensions aren't yet available, so resize handles continue to behave as normal until the image has loaded. Further image editing is on the roadmap.
Open a page from your project, select an image, and hold Cmd.
